More fire departments in Michigan then anywhere else in the country have been affected by the economic crisis facing our nation but only a few have received SAFER grants.
Attached is a two page document listing the candidates that were endorsed by the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union for the primary election that was held on August 3rd. More than 90% of the candidates endorsed by the MPFFU won their primary elections.
After being adopted by the Senate several weeks ago, the House Labor Committee finally passed SB 1072 on Wednesday, June 16th. The bill clarifies that fire districts and authorities are covered by PA 312. It also makes several cost saving changes to the PA 312 process. The MPFFU and the major Police Associations are all supportive of this bill.
